The forests of Borneo and Sumatra have long been the harvesting places of palm oil, leaving the homes and lives of the orangutang in great peril. I have chosen NOT to purchase my Palm Oil from companies sourcing in these locations.
Sustainable Palm Oil
I have found reputable suppliers through RESPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil). The Palm Oil I use, complete with a Certificate of Sustainability, has been farmed on Sustainable land in South America.
Orangutan Rescue Centers
There are many Rescue and Rehabilitation Centers in both Borneo and Sumatra: Nyaru Mentang Rescue Center and Orangutang Rescue Center in West Kalimantan, just to name a few.
Orangutan Rescue Centers cont.
All of these baby orangutangs have been rescued and now live their life among other orphaned babies at a Rescue Center. They have all lost their mothers to the Palm Oil destruction in their native Borneo and Sumatra.
Deforestation of Borneo 1950-2020
Deforestation
This is the result of the Palm Oil harvest. A total destruction of nature, habitats and wildlife.
Li'l Sis Goat Milk Soap does NOT want to contribute to such destruction.
Orangutan Habitat Deforestation
This is a clear indication of the damage caused by Palm Oil deforestation.
